The silence caught me by surprise,
When I was about to speak louder.
My puzzled eyes moved toward the sudden quietness,
In search of something worthy of praise,
Even if it was just the silence itself.
But I found only tears rolling down the face,
And understood the emotion
(Or the lack thereof)
Emptying lives and meanings,
Bringing noise as a safe escape
From one’s own troubles.
That’s when I silenced in reverence to your feelings.
