When I was dead

I was about to open my eyes,

But I heard someone cussing.

Then, another one.

And another.

Someone called me an old fart.

Someone else said I was cruel and insane.

The first one said I was an ogre.

Then I heard my wife’s opinions:

A fake, stupid, limited man,

With the head in his dick,

Always ready to fool someone.

Money was my sin,

And I always thought I could buy everyone.

Someone told her she sold herself,

And I wanted to laugh,

But she said she was the mother of my children,

And she endured things for them.

That conversation lasted a long time,

And for the pain and anger in their voices,

All I did was hurt and wrong people.

I didn’t know I was like that.

I didn’t think like that.

It was better when I was dead.
